WHITE FAMILY


Alda Belle White

Alda B. White of Pittsburgh, formerly of Kittanning, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Sept. 9, 1912 in Armstrong County to Harry B. and Elizabeth (McAfoose) White.
She was employed by McConnell-Watterson for 41 years.
She was a member of Manchester Presbyterian Church, New Kensington.
Survivors include one cousin, Keith White of Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one infant brother.

WHITE - Friends of Alda B. White of Pittsburgh, formerly of Kittanning, who died May 29, 2002, will be received from noon until funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, with her pastor, the Rev. Vince Scavo, officiating.
Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.

James Alexander White
raised on father's farm, taught school for 11 years;
Opened a general merchandise store in Goheenville PA in 1888 with Ambrose Minteer as his partner. Two years later bought Mr. Minteer's interest in the store and continued in the business until his death.
Died of stroke and buried at Rehobeth Cemetery, Armstrong Co PA

On August 29, 1924, James and Lucinda White celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by three of their five children, seventeen grand children, and five great grand children, and about 300 relatives and friends. Their three living children were John C of Kittanning PA , Harry B of Goheenville PA, and Nannie E of Wilkinsburg. James was 72 years old, and Lucinda 69. both were enjoying good health and took an active part in the affairs of the community. Both had looked forward with keen anticipation of their anniversary and very much appreciated the hearty good wishes and congratulations of their many friends.
